Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need a dedicated charger? Can’t I just use a power point?

You can, but it’s not ideal. Regular power points charge very slowly and aren’t designed to handle the constant load — they can overheat or trip your circuits. A dedicated charger is faster, safer, and built for the job.

Isn’t it expensive to install an car charger?

Not as much as you might think — and I offer free quotes so you know exactly what you're paying for. Plus, think about how much time you're spending driving to public chargers, waiting around, or running long cables at home. What’s your time worth?

Will I need to upgrade my switchboard to allow for an EV charger?

Maybe — but not always. I’ll inspect your setup first and let you know. If it does need an upgrade, I’ll handle the whole process, including any Evo Energy coordination.

I’m planning to get a different EV in future — will this charger still work?

Yes. I’ll recommend a charger that suits your current car and future models. Most chargers work across all major brands, and smart chargers can be updated as tech evolves. Most EV's come with a standard plug common across all vehicles

I don’t have solar or a battery (yet) — should I still install a charger now?

When you're ready to make the switch, your charger will already be compatible — saving you time, money, and another installation down the track.

I have solar and a home battery — can the charger work with that?
