Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need 3-phase power?

Not every home does — but if you're planning to install things like ducted air con, an EV charger, or remove gas appliances, 3-phase gives you the capacity to do it all properly. I’ll assess your setup and only recommend it if it makes sense for your situation.

Isn't it expensive to upgrade to 3-phase power?

There’s an upfront cost, but it’s an investment in your home’s future. It can actually save you money long-term by avoiding overloaded circuits, gas connection fees, electrical failures, or patchy workarounds.

Will I have to deal with Evo Energy and the meter company?

Nope — that’s on me. I handle all the back-and-forth with Evo Energy, your metering provider, and any required paperwork so you don’t have to stress about a thing.

Will my power be off for long during the upgrade?

Most upgrades only require a short power outage — I’ll let you know exactly when and for how long, and I’ll keep disruption to an absolute minimum.

Can’t I just add a bigger circuit instead of upgrading?

That might work short-term, but it’s not always safe or sustainable. If your home’s demand is growing, upgrading to 3-phase is the proper long-term solution.

I’ve already got solar — will this mess it up?

Not at all. In fact, 3-phase power can actually improve your solar system by allowing you to expand and export more power back to the grid efficiently.
